Due to the small number of participants this tournament has now ended.

However the server is currently up (without a password) with some of the tournament track sets.

We'll keep the server up for the foreseeable future and vary the tracks.


OLD TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

This tournament is open to ALL gamers playing from ANY IGUK centre.

Firstly you need to sign up for the tournament by speaking to a member of staff at the centre you are playing from - you only need to do this once and it only takes a couple of minutes.

Then you need to know that day's password for the IGUK Tournaments Server (server listed in-game under UK > England > London) - again ask a member of the centre staff. You've got all week to set the best times you can on all 5 tracks, then on the following Monday the winners will be drawn!


Weekly Prizes

At 6pm each Monday the server is stopped and all track records loaded in for the prize draw. Don't forget to be in the #iguk IRC channel on Quakenet (Mondays at 7pm) to watch the proceedings. The server will be back up on Monday morning with 5 new tracks for the following week's competition.

As per the IGUK Frag Lotto system, all players who have put in times are allocated virtual lotto tickets according to the F-Zero points system (see bottom of page for details).

Every week:

  • The player who has won the most tickets wins a tenner.
  • All other players are placed into the Frag Lotto draw to win another tenner.
At the end of the 4-week cycle:
  • The player who has the most tickets overall in the league table wins £25 AND a Plantronics headset.
  • All other players in the league table are placed into the Frag Lotto draw to win another £25.
  • The second and third-placed players also win a Plantronics headset each.
As long as there is enough interest, we will continue with another two 4-week cycles in the same way. At the end of the complete 12-week season, we will be presenting medals to the 3 players with the most tickets overall. There will also be a trophy for the winning player's centre.


Rules

You must be playing from an IGUK Member Centre to be included in the prize draws. All IPs connecting to the server are logged and will be checked against the IGUK centre list by the auto-scores program installed on our server. Any player attempting to play from outside of an IGUK Member Centre will have ALL their scores to date removed from the stats system, and will be disqualified from taking any further part in the events.


The F-Zero Points System

Tickets are allocated as follows:
1st place: 100 tickets
2nd place: 93 tickets
3rd place: 87 tickets
4th to 25th place: 81, 76, 71, 66, 62, 58, 54, 50, 47, 44, 41, 38, 35, 33, 31, 29, 27, 25, 23, 22, 21, 20
and continuing one less for each position down to 1 ticket. All track records past 45th place are awarded 1 ticket each.
